Trend Analysis of Different Climate Parameters and Watering Requirements for Hazelnut in Central Italy Related to Climate Change

In this study, the effects of climate change on irrigation water requirement hazelnut trees were investigated in Central Italy. The meteorological variables considered precipitation, temperature, chilling units, and Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) hydrological reference evapotranspiration (ET0) based soil balance. Climate data collected from eight stations for period 1974–2021, ET0 was estimated by Hargreaves Samani equation. SPI index calculated a four-month time scale corresponding to growing season (April–August). A statistical analysis trends conducted. results showed an increasing trend ET0, requirements, while decreasing shown units. No significant detected precipitation SPI.
